ARGOS-3 Simulator
The ARGOS-3 Simulator is a computational tool developed in Python with the objective of studying, analyzing and validating satellite communication in the ARGOS-3 standard.
The ARGOS-3 standard is used by the Brazilian System for Collecting Environmental Data (SBCDA), under the responsibility of the National Institute of Space Research (INPE), to receive information from thousands of Data Collection Platforms (PCDs) distributed throughout the national territory. The transmissions made by the PCDs are retransmitted by satellites such as the SCD-1, SCD-2 and the CBERS series, which orbit at approximately 750 km of altitude.
The simulator was designed to reproduce the main aspects and challenges of satellite communication, incorporating fundamental concepts, such as:
- Signal modulation, coding and synchronization techniques
- Channel modeling, including noise, interference and attenuation
This repository consolidates the documentation, tests and simulation results of the ARGOS-3, constituting a reference base for academic research, technological development initiatives and applications in environmental monitoring in Brazil.
